In February and March the weather was lovely. Lots of sun, no rain and high temperatures. In May, when my family came to visit it was cold, rainy and cloudy. It was fun though with laughter all the way to La Rochelle and Puy de Fou, which never fails to delight. The female visitors were saying that they needed to lose some weight and were thinking of taking up skipping, even having a go in my courtyard before collapsing into a heap. Ten minutes later they were in the car sharing out chocolate. Difficult to lose weight using that strategy. One evening when it was particularly gloomy I lit the candles. One visitor remarked that you can now buy remote candles. 'What's that?' I asked mystified. They have a special lighting system so you can sit on the sofa and click on them like a television remote apparently. Yet another weight losing avoidance dodge.
I took them to the Troglodyte village. Gregorian music was playing in the church and my daughter-in-law said, 'I love Gregorian music.' I turned round and stared at her, amazed. 'You didn't used to. When you were in labour and about to leave my house for the hospital I offered you my tapes of Gregorian music and you said you would rather kill yourself.'
I am going to buy a great big wall chart for my kitchen and on it I am going to put a plan of what my family can and cannot eat. There are gluten free, dairy intolerance, yeast allergy, vegetarian, fish hater, mushroom hater, hot drink hater and occasionally someone who will eat or drink anything.
My voting slip for the European elections arrived this morning. Who would have thought that more than 2 years on we would still be in the EU. Will this lack of clarity ever end? I want to make decisions about my life but I am at the mercy of politicians. At the risk of sounding repetitious would the Republicans in the US please stand up to the crooked, ignorant, money and Trump obsessed President and get rid of him? Please!
