Blah, blah, blah

Have you ever felt, or looked like a goldfish?  We all know  someone  who talks incessantly, totally unaware that perhaps the other person might like to say something, and never listens anyway.  I know  someone just like this.  This morning I had coffee with her.  Even when I managed to start a sentence, she limited to me to 3 words before she talked right over me.  I lasted an hour, not having managed to complete one sentence.  I said I had to go as I had lots to do when she stopped me in my tracks.  'I can't stand that woman, you know the fat one.  She talks and talks and never lets me get a word in edgeways.'  If she had been 'large' herself I would have shown her a mirror.

Two  weeks ago I turned the heating off, opened all the windows and  went for walks in the glorious, warm sunshine.  Today I kept the windows closed, put 4 layers on and huddled up in my winter coat as the temperatures plummeted.  My son in Bulgaria messaged that the weather was lovely there, while another son in the UK sent a photo of it snowing in Buckinghamshire.

Today the Ophthalmologist is going to do something to my left eye with a laser.  I don't know what and I am not sure I want to know, I just hope she knows what she is doing.

HMRC have made a gross error in calculating my son's tax credits.  They have admitted the error but have said they can't do anything about it 'for some time' because they are presently dealing with queries from 2020.  'Can you call off the debt collectors at least?'  No, they can't do that until the error is formally agreed upon  and settled.  2025?

French railway workers are striking 2 days in 5 for the next few months in protest against Macron's reforms.  To launch these strikes huge protests were organised in Paris but oh dear the strikers couldn't get there because the trains weren't running due to strike action.

stormy weather

Last evening there was a huge storm, lightning,  wind and torrential rain in Agra. This morning the devastation was clear. No power, 50 dead and hundreds of trees down. On the way to the taj mahal  I could see crushed cars, flooded streets  and so many trees.   Then out of all this destruction I arrived at the taj mahal. It doesn't matter how many pictures you see  they cannot compare to seeing this exquisite building rising up above you.  I have waited so long to see it and  it  is far better than I could have imagined.
