I don't have time for this

I am under pressure.  I have 3 days until the removers come, I am still doing my daily trips to the hospital, the paperwork is piling up and I am being frustrated by not being able  to complete things.  Orange just doesn't answer the phone, or at least they do with a recorded message saying they can't answer the phone.  I have tried dealing with them online but the scenarios offered don't include my situation.  The don't operate on Saturdays and during the week they work 9 to 5.  Pathetic.  Meanwhile I need a covid test.  One test centre leaves you hanging then cuts you off, another wanted to charge an extortionate amount of money so finally I managed to get an appointment miles away.  I am planning a trip to the UK (fingers crossed Johnson doesn't put France on the red list) but you can't complete the locater form until 48 hours before travel when I will be living temporarily in a caravan with no internet access.   I am still trying to pack and deal with the incredible fatigue that radiotherapy and moving at the same time causes so I don't have time for the likes of orange and yet I will have to sit on the phone when I should be doing other things, and hope that they answer.

I drove to the pharmacy yesterday to get a prescription but they didn't have it so I have to go back this morning.  When you live in the country this is not a simple stroll to the chemist on the corner, it is a 45 minute round trip plus the foot tapping wait while the person in front of you collects enough medicine to cure every disease known to man.  The French certainly like their pills and they feel cheated if a visit to their doctor doesn't result in them being  given a fist full of prescriptions.

Meanwhile the French government are suggesting that they send gifts to the British government of a globe and an atlas so that they can discover for themselves where Reunion is.  Reunion has some cases of the Beta variant, which is why I will have to quarantine when I reach the UK.  Reunion is as far away as the Falkland Islands.  Let's hope the UK doesn't get invaded by a marauding  sheep disease from there, brought by  the prevailing winds from the south Atlantic.

French railway workers are striking 2 days in 5 for the next few months in protest against Macron's reforms.  To launch these strikes huge protests were organised in Paris but oh dear the strikers couldn't get there because the trains weren't running due to strike action.

stormy weather

Last evening there was a huge storm, lightning,  wind and torrential rain in Agra. This morning the devastation was clear. No power, 50 dead and hundreds of trees down. On the way to the taj mahal  I could see crushed cars, flooded streets  and so many trees.   Then out of all this destruction I arrived at the taj mahal. It doesn't matter how many pictures you see  they cannot compare to seeing this exquisite building rising up above you.  I have waited so long to see it and  it  is far better than I could have imagined.
