I know what I am doing

I am moving house, I need temporary accommodation for two months, I have packed 24 boxes so far, no-one wants to buy my furniture, I am undergoing treatment for cancer, I haven't seen my family for a year and not likely to see them for some time and it is raining.  Well of course it is, it's Wimbledon.

So when my sister said she couldn't understand how I was coping with it all, I confidently replied, 'well I know what I am doing'.  I have moved more than 39 times, so have had plenty of practice.  I have had cancer before too so I am an old hand at that as well but I can't count on other things or people tipping over the apple cart or putting more hurdles in my way, just to test my resilience.

A Tory MP, commenting on Matt Hancock's resignation as Health Secretary said, 'he is a man of great honour, an honourable man, which is why he has done the honourable thing and resigned.'  He knowingly broke the rules and cheated on his wife, so where exactly is the honourable bit?

The demise of Donald Trump and his cheating family is getting closer but I wish they would hurry it up before he inflicts more damage on his country.  He is like an old  record going round and round and the only way to shut him up is to throw him in jail.  I am pretty confident he wouldn't get a pardon from Biden.

Isn't June supposed to be sunny?  This interminable  rain is driving everyone crazy, while in the west of the USA they are hitting all time heat records for that area.  Climate change is real.

French railway workers are striking 2 days in 5 for the next few months in protest against Macron's reforms.  To launch these strikes huge protests were organised in Paris but oh dear the strikers couldn't get there because the trains weren't running due to strike action.

stormy weather

Last evening there was a huge storm, lightning,  wind and torrential rain in Agra. This morning the devastation was clear. No power, 50 dead and hundreds of trees down. On the way to the taj mahal  I could see crushed cars, flooded streets  and so many trees.   Then out of all this destruction I arrived at the taj mahal. It doesn't matter how many pictures you see  they cannot compare to seeing this exquisite building rising up above you.  I have waited so long to see it and  it  is far better than I could have imagined.
